Do I need a UAE Will if I already have one at home?
Yes. UAE courts don't automatically apply a foreign Will to assets held here; a registered UAE Will is required to protect your local bank accounts, property, and business interests.
I'm Muslim. Do I still need a registered Will?
Yes. While Sharia inheritance principles automatically apply to Muslim residents, a registered Wasiyya lets you direct up to one-third of your estate as you choose, and clearly documents your wishes, a right you lose without one.
Does my spouse automatically inherit if I have no Will?
Not automatically. Without a registered Will, default UAE succession rules may apply regardless of your religion or nationality. A Will ensures your spouse is protected as you intend.
How long does registration take?
Typically 3–10 working days from consultation to your certified copy, depending on court availability. A Fast Track option (1–5 days) is available for an additional court fee.
Do I need a Will if I rent and own no property?
Yes. A Will also covers your bank accounts, vehicles, business interests, and most importantly, guardianship of any minor children.
Can my UAE Will also cover assets abroad?
Often, yes. Many clients include overseas property, savings, and investments. We review your full picture, both UAE and international, during your consultation.
